Crochet Eyelets

This section explores four different ways of creating eyelets in crochet.

The first method uses the X-sc stitch, a variation of the sc2tog, which forms small rounded rows of eyelets.

The second approach uses extended single crochet stitches, creating eyelets that are also small but lighter and more drapey than those made with the X-sc.

Another group of stitches reworks single crochet ribbing in the back loops to form large, statement eyelets. These fabrics are very textured, eye-catching, and pleasantly squishy.

Finally, eyelets can also appear in a much more delicate form. By working the linen (moss) stitch in an unusual way, it is possible to create a light fabric with tiny eyelets. You can see an example of this approach in the Sunset shawl pattern on Ravelry.
