My approach

I work in a very specific area of crochet. I don’t use traditional crochet stitches, and the patterns and textures you see here and on my Instagram are my own creations.

My goal is:

  • to push our craft forward,

  • to change how crochet is perceived,

  • to show how differently it can look, feel, and be worn.

I explore everything crochet can offer (and that’s a lot!) and invent new stitches and techniques that make it more casual and practical.

I don’t stick to a single method; there are always multiple directions to explore, whether it’s crochet cables, colorwork, linear Rdc patterns, esc textures, lace, or stitches that work with specific yarns: too thick, too thin, mohair, and more.

About my patterns

My patterns are long and very detailed, as they introduce new stitch structures and unfamiliar ways of working.

I don’t currently produce video tutorials*, nor do I share them for free - the stitches themselves are the core value of my work. The finished item is just a way to present those stitches to the public (often starting with shawls or cowls, and later expanding into garments).

*Though I’ll be adding the Stitch Library to the website soon to show how to work specific stitches within different techniques.

Skill level

Because of this, my patterns are not aimed at quick or beginner-focused projects. Even very experienced crocheters may feel like beginners when working with my designs for the first time, as the stitches are simply unusual - much like working our very first single crochet stitch once did.

With a little practice, these patterns become quick and easy - though it can still take 10+ pages to explain the process. This is great for crocheters, but a challenge for publishers (and for me) trying to fit the pattern into a few-column layout.

For this reason, I no longer submit my designs to magazines.

Working with yarn

I believe every yarn has its place in crochet, and I love discovering the ways a yarn can truly shine - even when its base, weight, or colorway is unusual.

However, I can’t create a design without first working with the yarn and seeing what suits it. This means swatching, frogging, changing my mind (and stitches), and swatching again.

For this reason, I don’t accept design requests for yarns I haven’t worked with before, or without enough time and flexibility to test them properly.

Let’s connect

My goal isn’t just to make more patterns - it is to contribute to the craft in my own way, creating new textures and stitches that, one day, will feel familiar to everyone.

My dream is ambitious, and it’s hard to realize alone. My days are full, and I’m literally years behind the ideas I want to explore. Two hands are simply not enough.

If there are crocheters within your publishing house, yarn company, or yarn shop team who share a similar vision and a desire to transform the craft of crochet and you see any way we can work together, feel free to connect. ◍•ᴗ•◍
