CONSTRUCTION
The Moonflower is a long, narrow, scarf-like wrap with a gentle, slightly rounded shape. It is worked in two stages. The large cable border is worked sideways first. At this stage you can easily adjust the shawl’s size by working fewer or more cable sections. Then, the body is worked along the upper edge of the border.
The Moonwake sweater is worked top down with the increases placed along the shoulders. As soon as the desired width is reached, the front and back are worked separately to the desired length. The sleeve stitches are picked up using the border sts around the arm openings and worked in the round, top down to the desired length. Decreases are evenly placed along each sleeve creating a gentle taper toward the cuff. The sides are joined with a mattress seam to align the ridges and cables neatly.
