Single Crochet in BLO
This section explores single crochet ribbing worked in the back loops as a base, paired with different stitches and combinations: eyelets, stars, circles, and diamonds.
Some of the stitch patterns here use a simple technique that allows the ribbing ridges to outline shapes smoothly without interrupting their flow. This creates a beautiful effect, especially when worked in multiple colors.
In this section you will also find a special stitch, the X-sc. The X-sc is a variation of the regular sc2tog, worked in a mirror-like way, which creates small rounded eyelets. You can also see it in the Crochet Eyelets section.
Note, in all stitch patterns based on single crochet ribbing, work the last stitch of each row into both loops to prevent the edge from stretching.
Waves
The Moonwalk shawl is worked from one corner to the other side and alternates diamond and wavy ribbing ridge rows, creating a beautiful and soothing texture. With a little and simple trick, the ribbing ridges outline the diamonds without being interrupted and smoothly flow from one side to the other.
