Let’s colorwork? ◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍

The linen (moss) stitch pattern is one of my favorites. It is easy to make and lightweight, and it often becomes a perfect base for new techniques, including colorwork.

One way to add colorwork is presented in the book New Ways with Crochet.

Another technique was used for the Arca cowl, and I will definitely explore it more.

A lovely and very different option for colorwork with the linen stitch as a base is presented in the Make a Wish shawl.

And now I came up with another technique for colorwork with the linen stitch in a new way. Very simple, very lovely!

The first stitch pattern, Linen Hearts (pic above), is already available on my website, Etsy, and Ravelry.

★ The pattern is written out and charted.
★ It includes stitch instructions suitable for a scarf, blanket, or any rectangular project.
★ It also includes two cowl patterns: one worked in the original stitch pattern and one in a modified version, showing one of the ways the stitch can be used differently.
★ There are photo tutorials for the stitch itself, the foundation cord (used to start the cowls), and joining in the round / managing the colors neatly.
★ Language: English (US crochet terms)
★ Pages: 10

For now, I want to design at least 10 stitch patterns using this technique (feels enough to explore) and then release them together as a stitch pattern e-book.

Knowing how quickly I switch from one technique to another, I tried to take this under control and already started designing them. ↓↓↓

Designing stitch patterns is full of amazing surprises, because I never know what each try will bring.

Sometimes I think, “This idea is useless, but let’s try it anyway, just to make sure my guess is right”. And then I am wrong, and that stitch turns out to be the most eye-catching one in the series. ◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍
